The Davidson Children: Chloe, Grant, Hayden and Caroline
Nathan and Michele Davidson have been married since 1991. Michele started to coming to Smith Island in the late 1990's before the couple had children to perform community health programs and fell in love with the Island and its amazingly kind people. She is a nurse midwife, college professor and author turned summer innkeeper for the Smith Island Inn. Nathan is a nurse practitioner, adjunct professor, and former Navy Seabee who assists in running the Inn as well.

The Davidson's have four children, Hayden, Chloe, Caroline, and Grant, who all, in some capacity, assist their parents in operating the bed and breakfast.

Hayden is his parent's master of all trades. He assists his Dad with his building skills, brings items to the Island on our boat, supervises younger siblings, and cleans and cooks breakfast some of the time. Hayden is an excellent student and is very focused on his future goals.

Chloe is the oldest sister and is our social butterfly, She loves greeting and checking on guests and commonly deliveries meals and assists with breakfast preparations. She is a wonderful golf cart chauffer and often picks up guests and offers them rides on the Island. Chloe is a talented volleyball player and enjoys staying active. She enjoys beach trips to Swan Island after the tourists depart for the day.

Caroline is a busy bee who enjoys cleaning and could likely run the B&B quite independently. Caroline typically sets the table, clears the plates, changes beds, and cleans rooms. She is very detail-oriented. When Caroline departs the boat at the dock, she is often off and running, playing with long-time friends, exploring, and engaging in child's outside games and activities.

Grant is the youngest sibling who has stolen everyone's heart. Grant sometimes pulls a trailer for luggage, collects trash on the street, and supervises gardening at the Inn. He loves to help and is quite funny. His Dad made him a wheelchair adapted lawn mower, so you may see him cutting grass, hauling mulch, or taking off on a boat with his floating beach wheelchair.

The Davidson's are part-time residents of Smith Island and also make their home in Ashburn, VA. The family has a nearby residence which allows guests to rest and regenerate in a quiet peaceful environment ... and keep the bustle of four children down the street...

The Inn has several Islanders who keep us operating and ensure the best possible stay for our guests. We consider our staff an extension of our family and entrust them to the care of our guests without reservation!
